About John

My name is John McGaughey and I am a first year student at the University of Waterloo - studying mathematics . I am a very academically focused student, I take honors and AP classes and do some extra curricular activities that include practicing gymnastics 27 hours a week, and playing the guitar and piano. I am currently enrolled in ISM to pursue the study of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and I am very excited to learn and connect with professionals in the field.

Education:

I am a Frisco High School junior who is involved in many rigorous courses such as AP Calculus BC, AP Physics, AP computer science principles, and ISM. In the past 2 years of high school I took other rigorous courses such as AP World, AP Human, and AP Calculus AB. During my free time I took free courses about machine learning offered by Stanford and MIT.

Mission Statement:

My mission is to be a person of integrity and to have a purpose in everything I do. I want to find a mentor in the field of machine learning and work with a passion to do my absolute best. We will all benefit from the ideas machine learning has to offer, I am just hoping to help.
